The Chelsea midfielder has not been included in the 23-man party for this summer's showpiece in South America
Chelsea midfielder Oscar has not been included in Brazil's squad for the Copa América in Chile this summer due to injury.
The 23-year-old was not among the 23-man party named by head coach Dunga on Tuesday after Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho informed the CBF (Brazilian FA) that he had suffered a problem in a recent training session.
"He had an injury in his last training session with Chelsea," Dunga said.
"We talked to Mourinho and with the Chelsea doctors. His period of recovery will be somewhat prolonged, so he will not be in the best condition.
"We think he will be better prepared for the World Cup qualifiers, which begin soon after the Copa América."
Oscar posted a message on social media soon after which read: "I am very sad not to defend my country in the Copa América because of an injury. Thank you all for caring !!"
Estou muito triste por não defender meu país na Copa América por conta de uma lesão. Obrigado a todos pelo carinho!!
The Seleção, who are chasing their ninth title in the South American showpiece, have been drawn into Group C where they will face Colombia, Peru and Venezuela.
Dunga has revitalised Brazil’s fortunes following their World Cup humiliation, with a run of eight successive friendly victories in which only two goals have been conceded.
Their most recent success came against Copa hosts Chile at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, when a second-half goal from Roberto Firmino was enough to secure a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
The five-time World Cup winners have further friendlies scheduled against Mexico and Honduras on June 7 and 10, respectively, as they finalise preparations.
Brazil open their campaign against Peru in Temuco on June 14, before heading to Estadio Monumental in Santiago for their clashes with Colombia (June 17) and Venezuela (June 21).Brazil squad for Copa América 2015
