Mario Balotelli's adoptive father died last week and was buried over the weekend in Brescia, Italy
Liverpool striker Mario Balotelli is currently mourning the death of his adoptive father Francesco Balotelli.
Fransesco Balotelli died last week after a long-term illness and was buried on Saturday, July 4 in Brescia.
He
was the mad who adopted Balotelli after authorities suggest that his
Ghanaian parents who are immigrants place him into foster care.
Balotelli's
parents gave up the three-year-old boy to an Italian foster family, the
Balotellis who lived in the town of Concesio, Brescia, in northern
Italy.
According to information on his Wikipedia page, Balotelli stayed at the Balotellis during the weekdays, and returned to his biological parents on weekends.
But after a while
he started to be indifferent towards his biological parents and adopted
the surname of the Balotellis, and it was arranged for him to be
permanently fostered by the Balotellis.
The 24-year-old striker missed the first day of Liverpool's pre-season training yesterday, Monday, July 6 after he was granted compassionate leave following the death of his adoptive father.
The Italian striker was given extra-days off to mourn with his family.
The
former Manchester City striker is however expected to join his
teammates on Liverpool's pre-season tour to the Far East and Australia.
Liverpool kick off their English Premier League campaign with a trip to the Britannia Stadium to face Stoke on August 9.
