Yesterday, award winning rapper M.I Abaga took over the realm of the music label Chocolate City.
The star artiste who was revealed as the new President of the label last week, shared photos of his new office yesterday, July 6, 2015.
His office is tastefully furnished with a slightly minimalist feel to it. "This
ain't no tall order this is nothing to me..Difficult takes me a day..
Impossible takes three.. I do this in my sleep.. I sold Kilos of hope so
I'm guessing I can run CC.. I'm not a business man.. I'm a business.
Man!!!!! Lemme handle my business damn. Sean Carter re edited. #CBN" wrote M.I on the caption which is a slightly altered quote from rapper Jay Z.
While showing off his new office, M.I addressed the notion that he does not dress like a stereotypical rapper.
"Someone asked
me the other day why I didn't dress like, tatt up like, earring like,
act like a rapper. It made me think and laugh at the same time. At the
end of my life.. I would hope that my answer is 'my vocation, occasion,
situation or any persuasion did not define me.. I defined them all.. And
so doing.. I found me" he wrote.
Joey Akan, the head of Music Content for Pulse believes that M.I Abaga has his work cut out for him as the boss of the new label.
"Having
been the CEO of the defunct Loopy Music, that experience will serve him
well in his new position. But this a greater task and he will have to
bring his A-game to the table.
First,
the careers of 13 music entities are in his hands. Creative guidance,
financial commitments, and most importantly, musical progresses are all
in his lap. Then there’s the case of him also needing to manage his
career, keeping it on track too" wrote Joey Akan in his opinion piece about the rapper.
