Kerry Washington made a glamorous appearance at the Met Gala and its after-party on Monday in New York City.The 38-year-old looked elegant in a pink satin dress on the red carpet and then switched to a stunning silver number. Making the ensembles even more eye-catching was the rarely-seen accessory on her arm – her football star husband Nnamdi Asomugha.
The Scandal star and the former San Francisco 49ers cornerback walked with their arms linked as they made their way into Rihanna’s soiree at the Standard Hotel following the glittering Costume Institute Benefit Gala.
Kerry and Nnamdi married quietly in 2013 after dating for one year. Together, they have one-year-old daughter Isabelle.
The lovebirds have successfully kept their private life low-key – only appearing together publicly on few occasions.
Last year in June they were spotted with their daughter on the way to watch a World Cup game at a friend’s home in Los Angeles.
But Nnamdi has been mostly camera shy, opting to let his wife revel solo in the spotlight as she promotes her hit series Scandal, now in its fourth season.
The sportsman retired from the NFL in 2013 and has been pursuing a career in acting along with philanthropy, including work with the Clinton Global Initiative for the past six years.
He last appeared onscreen in Hello, My Name Is Doris, opposite Sally Field as the title character and Tyne Daly, Natasha Lyonne and Wendi McLendon-Covey. The comedy was released in March.
Meanwhile Kerry’s star continues to soar on her ABC drama.
Since January she has graced the cover of five magazines, including In Style, Marie Claire, Marie Claire UK, Ebony and Glamour.
