SPORT: Qatar might house 12,000 football fans on ships during World Cup ... READ HERE

The country has pledged to have 100,000 rooms ready for supporters by the start of the tournament but they might not all be on land.

The latest twist in the story of the 2022 World Cup is the news that Qatar hopes to house up to 12,000 football supporters on boats during the tournament.
The Qatar Tourism Authority has said that the floating hotel idea, first floated two years ago, is back on the table. In a statement, they said:
“Over the past few years, QTA established a number of strong relationships with international cruise operators as well as with other specialists involved in the industry.
"This has proved to be of great importance especially that Qatar will be extensively benefiting from cruise ships over the 2022 World Cup, as a means of providing additional accommodation supply for fans and visitors over the period.
"QTA will be contracting a minimum of 6,000 rooms on cruise ships for 2022 tournament."
This is potentially good news for fans although there's no further word from Sepp Blatter on whether gay supporters should still refrain from sexual activity for the duration of the tournament.
