The Association of Senior Staff of Bank and Financial Institutions (ASSBIFI) is picketing the Alpha-Beta Consulting Limited, believed to be owned by the leader of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the sack of 300 workers in its employ.
The company total staff strength is said to be about 375. Our correspondent gathered that the staff were sacked because they signified their intent to be unionized in order to improve their working conditions.
ASSBIFI’s officials, who besieged the premises company as early as 7am on Tuesday displayed various placards and criticized the action of the company’s management. Some of the inscriptions on the placards, read: ‘Alpha Beta is a lawless organization,’ ‘Injustice to humanity must stop,’
Also, the Lagos Water Corporation has been sealed by the union and its workers are outside the premises of the company.
