American actor, Will Smith has played the role of a Nigerian doctor in an upcoming Hollywood movie which
tells the true-life story of Bennet Ifekandu Omalu, a Nigerian born American forensic neuropathologist who discovered a head injury, Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE).

Titled Concussion, the movie’s plot sees Will Smith (Dr. Omalu) struggle to convince the NFL and his colleagues to recognise the disorder which was affecting several players in the game.

The movie, which is directed by Peter Landesman, also stars Alec Baldwin and Adewale Akinuoye-Agbaje. It will be released on December 25, 2015.
