Oshiomhole betrayed Jonathan -Orubebe

Godsday Orubebe

Former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Godsday Orubebe, yesterday, lampooned Edo State governor, Adams Oshomhole,  for speaking against former president, Goodluck Jonathan, who he described as a great leader.

Irked by recent unpalatable statements credited to Oshiomhole, the former minister described  the governor as an ingrate and a popular Villa sycophant,  quick to switch allegiance to whoever is in power.

Orubebe advised  President Muhammadu Buhari to watch out for the likes of the Edo State governor, who would choke him with acclamations to enable them access the nation’s cake.

He alleged that Oshomhole was a major sycophant during the immediate-past administration, as the Chief Adviser on Economic and Labour Matters and particularly on Subsidy Removal to Jonathan, and regretted that human memory was short.

“It is unfortunate that Oshomhole, who should talk like a governor, is today, biting the fingers  that fed him and seems to have forgotten in a hurry that he once cried around the former president for assistance and recognition,” Orubebe said.

The former minister stated that 99 per cent of Nigerians, particularly those in government, were sycophants, adding that history had proved Edo State-born Captain Hosa right, as he had earlier warned Jonathan that Nigerians would ultimately hold him responsible for whatever damage Oshiomhole inflicted on the nation.

On the sour relationship between Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike and his predecessor, Chibuike  Amaechi, the former minister, who described Amaechi as a good man with reference to his unalloyed support for former president Jonathan during the 2011 general elections,  advised the duo to sheathe their swords and work together to restore Rivers State to its lost glory.
